SPILL Festival 2012

The SPILL Festival of performance launches in Ipswich next week, on 31 October, offering five days of experimental theatre and live art from a host of international performers.

SPILL first occurred five years ago in London but this year the action will unfold in its founder and artistic director, Robert Pacitti’s home town. From now on the festival will be annual, alternating between Ipswich and the English capital, gently challenging the artistic but London-centric to head out of town for a few days over autumn.

The programme is a packed one, with much to interest those with a passion for object theatre. This year the festival has been curated around notions of proximity.

“SPILL is opening a range of sites and venues in Ipswich that haven’t been used for live art before. The size of the town means these are all within walking distance of each other… there’s a huge amount to see and do” says Robert Pacitti.

We’re sending a reviewer to the festival to cover it for Animations Online, so watch this space for our verdict.
