Welcome to Animations!
Animations is a quarterly online magazine run by the Puppet Centre Trust. It is a voice for contemporary puppetry and related arts, offering discussion and debate, reviews, and news from the puppet community and elsewhere. It’s an essential read for anyone interested in puppetry in all its diverse manifestations. Animations Online aims to represent the full spectrum of professional practice, from traditional puppetry to experimental visual theatre using puppetry or animation.

In this edition, we bring you an eclectic mix of features, reports, news and reviews, reflecting the broad church of puppetry practice that we support and promote.

In Wayang on International Stages Matthew Isaac Cohen enlightens us on traditional and contemporary forms of Indonesian puppetry.

Our Company Profile is of Green Ginger, who have been creating groundbreaking puppetry and animation work since the 1970s.

From the Frontline features an account by Amelia Bird of the making of Gomito’s latest show Before We Remember, which premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2008.
