Critical Voices – Suspense Festival Special

Are you a wordsmith who is fascinated by object theatre, puppetry and mask? Would you like to hone your skills as a critic and the opportunity to have your writing published?

On Saturday 26 October 2013, join Animations Online and Puppet Centre for an afternoon exploring what good visual theatre criticism is.

Practical workshops hosted by Diana Damian (Exeunt) and Jake Orr (A Younger Theatre, Dialogue) will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with guest speaker Honour Bayes (Time Out, Guardian, The Stage).

An event for (new or experienced) writers with a passion for unusual theatre, Critical Voices is designed to nurture and develop cultural critics and journalists, especially those who want to write about puppetry.

Programmed during SUSPENSE London Festival of Puppetry, participants will become eligible for concessionary festival tickets and encouraged to contribute an article to a festival blog. Bloggers will be supported and mentored by editors Ella Parry-Davies (Exeunt) and Helen Babbs (Animations Online).

Writers who have attended previous Critical Voices events have gone on to write reviews and features for Animations Online.

Places are limited and must be booked in advance. Reserve yours now by downloading the booking form below and sending it to louise.alexander@puppetcentre.org.uk
